Kuendbar is operated by Lot 313, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, which is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy explains what Kuendbar collects when you visit this website, buy from us or contact us, and what we do with it.
Information we collect
- With your approval at install, the Shopify permissions read_orders and read_customers. When Pro subscription matching is on and a customer confirms a cancellation (not before, and not while they review it), the app searches your orders for that customer's email address and reads, for matching orders, the order number and date and the product and selling plan names of subscription line items. Matched subscriptions are shown only to you in the app and in the confirmation email sent to that address. It does not change anything in your store.
- What your customer enters on the cancellation page: name, email address, an optional order or subscription number, the type of cancellation (ordinary or extraordinary), the reason for an extraordinary cancellation, and an optional end date. We store these with the time of receipt, the matched subscriptions, and whether the confirmation emails were sent.
- A one-way hash of the visitor's IP address (not the address itself) and a per-shop counter, kept for at most one day, to limit abuse of the cancellation form. Expired counters are deleted whenever the app next handles a request.
- Your settings: notification email address, languages, link wording and retention period, plus your shop's name and contact email read from Shopify, and the shop's Shopify access token.
- The email addresses and confirmation text we send to your customer and to you, passed to an email delivery provider to be sent.
- Billing for Kuendbar is handled by Shopify through your Shopify account; we do not receive or store your card details.
- Messages you send us, and anything you include in them.
- If you arrive from one of our ads: the ad click identifier in the link you followed, which we keep with your order.
- Technical data our hosting provider processes to serve and protect this website, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views in aggregate (page, referrer, country, browser type). It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites; like any web request, Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser user agent to do this. Query strings are not recorded. It loads one script from Cloudflare. This website loads no advertising scripts, and we look only at aggregate traffic statistics.
For your customers' personal data, you (the merchant) are the controller and Kuendbar acts as your processor. Shopify customers/data_request requests are acknowledged and the data is visible to you in the app; customers/redact requests delete the cancellations stored for that customer's email address.
How we use it
- to deliver what you bought and to communicate with you about your order;
- to answer support questions and handle refund requests;
- to measure which of our ads lead to purchases;
- to keep accounting, tax and legal records;
- to prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep the website working.
Business email
If we emailed you about Kuendbar, we used your business contact details (name, work email address, job title and company) from publicly available sources and business contact data providers, because your role suggested the product could be relevant to your business. Every such email has an unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe or ask us to stop, we will not email you about Kuendbar again, and we keep only the minimum record needed to honor that request.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run Kuendbar, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Shopify (installing and running the app in your store, billing, and the store data the app needs to work);
- cloud hosting and content delivery providers (serving and protecting this website, and aggregate traffic statistics);
- cloud storage and database providers (keeping your settings and order records);
- email delivery providers (sending and receiving email about your order and support requests, and business email);
- email routing and customer-support service providers (receiving the emails you send to our support address, sorting them and preparing draft replies);
- advertising platforms (to measure our ads: when you arrive from an ad and buy, the ad click identifier and the purchase value);
- professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where needed.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. We do not sell your personal information for money.
Shopify handles billing under the Shopify Privacy Policy.
How long we keep it
Cancellation records are deleted automatically after the retention period you choose in the settings (default 3 years); the deletion runs as the app handles requests (the cancellation page and the app admin of your shop, and at least once a day while the app is in use). On uninstall we remove the access token. About 48 hours after uninstall, Shopify sends a shop/redact request and we delete all data we hold for the shop. We keep a minimal log of privacy requests (shop, topic, time) without personal data. Copies of support emails kept to sort them and prepare replies are usually held for up to 90 days (up to 12 months if a message could not be delivered to us and is still being handled), after which their sender, subject, message and draft replies are deleted; the support emails themselves are kept only as long as needed to answer you and meet legal obligations, then deleted. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below).
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, the UK or the EU), you may have further rights, such as to receive a copy of your data, or to opt out of or object to certain uses, including sharing for ad measurement. Contact us from the email address you used with us; we will respond within the time the law requires and will not treat you differently for making a request. If we must keep some records by law, we will tell you.
Security
We use established service providers and limit access to your information to what is needed to serve you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
Children
Kuendbar is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
